The brief and what we did
Not a one off workshop. Sixteen weeks of real practice.
The challenge was consistency: build a weekly training curriculum that keeps young people engaged in professional digital storytelling, and avoid the limits of one off creative workshops.
TRY42 led curriculum design, session facilitation and digital media strategy. We created the Young Islington Digital Creators programme with fixed weekly sessions, print ready facilitator session plans (Sessions 1 to 4) teaching Vertical Cinema as core professional practice, and an end to end digital media strategy with deliverables for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Over 16 session weeks, 30 young people learned to film, make and curate a project collectively. The result: sustained digital training that established Soapbox as a key digital creator hub for local youth.
“Filming, making and curating a project collectively.”
